What's wrong with Afro-textured hair?

The answer to that question is ABSOLUTELY NOTHINGIn this modern society; our generation feels the pressures of making our hair appear straighter. This is mainly to fit in and give ourselves the best possible opportunities in life. Our natural Afros are judged and viewed as unprofessional & I cannot understand why. The media doesn't help this situation either, there aren't many black role models with natural textured hair; can you think of any from the top of your head? How is our generation as well as the younger generation supposed to know it's okay to have hair like this when it is constantly disapproved?
I have friends who have attended job interviews that went fantastic but weren't hired because of their natural textured hair, I have family that wouldn't even dream of attending interviews without a weave or wearing a wig. I even once knew a guy who used to say 'I don't like girls with afro hair'. It doesn't need to be this way because well, there is nothing wrong with our afro-textured hair. It's simply hair and it is beautiful. This is a real issue that needs to be addressed properly because no one deserves to be treated differently/unfairly because of how their hair. This Spring/summer, I'm leaving my afro out; I am going to learn to live with it, to love it and to style it.

There was a time when I would never dream of leaving the house with my afro out but as I grow older, I've realised this hair is apart of me, my identity. When you recognise what makes you, YOU, your confidence grows too. So what the heck, free the Afro!

Happy Easter Monday.
