Gluten Free Cornflakes Breakfast Bowl

The best time to eat fruit is in the morning, on an empty stomach. Why you ask? Because the digestive system can break down the sugars faster allowing your body to get the full nutritional benefits. We like being nourished! Fruits are packed with Vitamin C and are a good source of fiber, not forgetting that their antioxidants can reduce inflammation in the body. There is nothing wrong with eating fruits with meals. However, when paired with other foods, digestion is slower as the system has other foods to process too. Wouldn't you rather get the full benefits?

The first thing my little brother said when he saw this rather fruitful breakfast of mine was, "Why did you put fruits in just milk? Where's the cereal?" His comment made me chuckle. I then had to go ahead and explain that it's not just a bowl of milk and fruits, there's gluten free cornflakes being held hostage at the bottom of the bowl. You know, the laws of gravity and all that. Anyway, good morning! The assignments are piling up so are the drafts but of course, there is always time for breakfast. I tend to have a bowl of oats for breakfast but thought I'd have cornflakes instead this morning. There's just not enough time in the week to cook up what I'd prefere to have for breakfast from time to time (mhm pancakes, freshly baked croissants, strawberry crepes, egg omelette, the list goes on), so I usually leave all the juicy stuff for the weekends.

Hope you're having a good week!
